Born and raised on Chicago’s South Side, Reverend Milton L. Shelby began his spiritual journey at the Spiral Temple of Truth, where his natural oratorical gifts and ability to demonstrate Divine Universal Principles quickly became evident. Driven by a hunger for deeper understanding, he expanded his education at the Chicago Baptist Institute and the Johnnie Coleman Theological Seminary. He was officially ordained on Mother’s Day in 1980, under the spiritual guidance of Bishop Harold Dade and Rev. Dr. Jean Dade-Batchie.

In 1990, Pastor Shelby followed a divine calling to establish The Church of Living Faith. Over the past three decades, he has become a respected pillar of the Chicago community, recognized with numerous honors including the Fred Hampton Community Leadership Award. His leadership extends beyond the pulpit, as he works tirelessly to empower residents through financial seminars, job fairs, and workshops that encourage self-sufficiency and spiritual consciousness.
